Ethereum Based Multi-sig Wallet recovery.

Liminal's multi-sig wallet is a self-custody storage solution, emphasizing that asset custody always remains independent of Liminal. Thus, even if Liminal ceases to exist in the future, funds in these multi-sig wallets remain safe and solely accessible by the signers.
When an Ethereum-based multi-sig wallet is set up through Liminal, it essentially initiates a Gnosis multi-sig contract in the background.
This contract registers all predetermined signers, with Liminal as the concluding signer. To initiate and confirm a transaction, the organization must provide one signature fewer than the required threshold. Liminal's gas station provides the final signature and also bears the transaction's gas fees.

Note: These steps are applicable to any EVM-based chains supported by Gnosis. Simply adjust the protocol or chain to the desired one, and the procedure remains consistent.

To Operate the Multi-Sig Wallet Outside Liminal:

  1. Navigate to the wallet details page.
  2. Access the "Settings" tab to download the Wallet Key Card.
  3. This key card contains all the necessary details to manage your wallet independently.
Refer to the provided sample key card for further understanding.

Steps to open the Multisig Wallet on Gnosis v3.9.0:

Step 1 - Visit the Gnosis safe website

Step 2 - Click on the "Launch App" button on the top right corner of the screen

Step 3 - Click on connect wallet. Please connect with the device which is a member/owner of the wallet. If you connect with any other device, then the wallet restored will only be a "view-only" wallet.

Step 4 - Select your wallet. For this article, we have selected Ledger as that is the device we are using.

Step 5 - Connect your device to the computer and select the custom derivation path. Please note that the derivation path would be mentioned in your wallet key card and scan for accounts.

Step 6 - In the list, you will see all addresses associated with your hardware wallets that are part of multisig wallets. Select the address you wish to use and click "Connect" to proceed.

Step 7: After connecting, you will be redirected to the Safe homepage, where you will see a list of all the addresses you are connected to. Proceed by selecting the address you previously chose to continue with your recovery.

Step 8 -  From the dropdown menu, select the appropriate multisig address associated with your wallet. This address should match the one listed on your wallet key card. Review the card to ensure you select the correct address. If your device is a member of multiple multisig wallets across different chains, make sure to choose the address for the specific wallet you intend to access.

Step 9 - That's it! You have now successfully restored your multisig wallet without using the Liminal Platform.
