Are you encountering challenges when trying to execute transactions on the Bitcoin network, particularly with Ledger transaction signatures?

We have vital news to share with you.

What's New?

Ledger has introduced an updated version of their Bitcoin application.

Notably, this version introduces support for Miniscript—a language that makes Bitcoin Script more expressive. As part of this transition and in a bid to segregate and optimise functionalities, Ledger has labelled the existing Bitcoin protocol as "Bitcoin - Legacy."

What Does This Mean For You?

For smooth and uninterrupted Bitcoin transactions, users are now advised to switch from the previous "Bitcoin" application on their Ledger devices to the newly labelled "Bitcoin-Legacy."

How to Make the Switch?

  1. Visit the Ledger Live platform.

  2. Browse the app catalogue and look for "Bitcoin-Legacy."

  3. Install the Bitcoin-Legacy application for an enhanced and seamless transaction experience.

Note: Currently the Bitcoin- Legacy application is only available on Ledger Live's Developer mode as per the updates.

Why is this Important?

Keeping pace with the advancements in the Bitcoin ecosystem is essential. Using the Bitcoin-Legacy application on your Ledger hardware wallet will ensure a continuous and seamless experience for signing and initiating transactions on Liminal.
