How To Setup Smart Consolidation?

Setting up smart consolidation is easy and a one-time task. Just follow these three steps and enjoy seamless automation of your fund flow.

Step 1:
Whitelist Destination Addresses

You can only consolidate funds into whitelisted addresses, to whitelist an address, navigate to the source deposit wallet > under policy > choose whitelist and subsequently add the address to the whitelist.

If you need more help in the whitelisting process please follow our Whitelist address policy guide.

Step 2:

Setup consolidation API CRON Job.

This is a one-time setup, that will be required in order to make sure consolidation happens.

This CRON acts as the trigger point for consolidation events.

Optimise with a CRON job! Call the  Consolidation API  every 15 minutes for best results. Avoid lengthy intervals to prevent extended consolidation cycles.

Here is the API Reference to consolidation API

As the above API points out, you will need to specify:

1) Coin: The chain for consolidation.
2) Wallet ID: The wallet on which consolidation should happen.
3) Target Address: This is the default address that you can pass.

Although the "targetAddress" is specified in the API, this will get overridden by the smart consolidation rules in the next step.

Step 3:

Create Consolidation Rules

To create a smart consolidation rule:
1️⃣ Navigate to the dev section and click on the "Smart Consolidation" tab.

? Note: Only owners can configure smart consolidation rules, we are working enable this functionality to admins with quorum.

2️⃣ Choose "Add New" or "Create Rule" to initiate configuration.

3️⃣ From the list of deposit wallets, select the one you wish to apply the rule.
Note: Should be the same one you have set API cron for.

4️⃣ You can choose to set up a different rule per asset(token) or a single rule that applies to all assets.

5️⃣ Setup the minimum amount, that an address should have for it to be eligible for consolidation.
Important Note: This is a per-address amount and not the total value of the wallet.

5️⃣ You can choose to customise the maximum gas fee, but opt for custom.

Otherwise, it will take the default values.

6️⃣ Finally select the first destination, and optionally add a spillover and a second destination to route the funds to.

7️⃣ Click on Add rule. You have now successfully setup smart consolidation for your account.

Once you have completed these steps, the funds from deposit wallets will be automatically consolidated into the specified destination addresses.

Note: Updated rules will take effect in the immediate next consolidation cycle.

About Consolidation Fees:

Liminal's gas station combined with Sprayer, constantly keeps looking for deposit wallet addresses that are eligible for consolidation and makes sure that there is a sufficient balance of native assets to fund the consolidation transaction.
In case there isn't the sprayer will send the required native asset to the specific address from where tokens are required to be consolidated.

Very Important

  • Smart Consolidation rules will take priority over the "targetAddress" on API.

  • But if smart consolidation rules are not configured, then the funds will be consolidated into the "targetAddress" as specified in the consolidation API.
